STEM/STEAM BASED PROJECTS

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Eastern and Western Medicine after school!!! This is a workshop that the girls will be able to explore the differences between Eastern and Western medical field of study. Students will be given their own stethoscopes and blood pressure equipment. They will learn how to take blood pressure readings and identify abnormalities. They will learn how to perform head to toe assessment and learn what types of sign and symptoms to look for. Students will also learn how to perform CPR. We will evaluate the health care system in the Western and Eastern hemispheres as well as the different ways to treat various diagnoses based on the medical practice.  Also, they will be engaged in a virtual dissection lab as well as a patient stimulation lab. Students will learn about the ancient Japanese healing technique of Jin Shin Jyutsu and how it can benefit our daily life. Students will learn other Eastern medical practices. 

These workshops are open to 7^th and 8^th Graders.

You may choose one session, 2 sessions, or all 3!

I am excited to be introducing the field of medicine to the girls.

If you wish to have your daughter go to regular afterschool at 4:30PM, please note this and I will bring her there.
